CCPC’s Elizabeth Burton Featured in 805 Living’s “Art Work”

I’m thrilled to share that I’ve been featured in the October 2025 issue of 805 Living magazine as part of their “Art Work” story. In her article, Joan Tapper interviews five local professionals who dedicate their work to guiding, preserving, and supporting the world of art and antiques.

In the feature, I talk about my passion for art conservation and the journey that brought me here. After studying art history at UCLA and training at Painting Conservation & Research, I pursued a Master’s degree from Northumbria University and built my practice around one key goal: to make artworks “readable and legible while honoring the artist’s intent.” My approach aims to be minimally invasive and reversible so that each piece’s story remains intact for generations to come.

From 19th-century paintings and historic works from Mission San Antonio de Padua to contemporary creations by Light and Space artists and even sculptures by Yayoi Kusama, my work spans centuries and styles. Each project is a unique challenge, whether it’s reversing environmental damage from fires or floods, or carefully removing an unexpected lipstick mark left by an art lover’s enthusiasm (yes, that happened!).

I’m deeply grateful to 805 Living for including me among such talented art professionals and for helping share the importance of art conservation with a wider audience.
